Bear excursion in Sälenfjällen

Bear excursion in Sälenfjällen

4PM Monday to Thursday from 12 June to 10 August. Other weeks in May-September on request.

Join us on a guided tour in our Nordic Wilderness. With our experienced guide, we visit a bear den in the wilderness and experience the unspoiled nature of Sälenfjällen, the southernmost mountains in Sweden.

The tour starts at Sälenakvariet where we enjoy the beautiful pictures of the photographer Bosse Fritzén’s meetings with bears. In our own cars we drive into the wilderness and make a hike to find a bear den. We learn about this fascinating predator of our guide, giving us a look into the brown bear’s life in the wild. The trip finish up with gathering around the fire and the coffee pot. We grill hot dogs and enjoy the silence of the wilderness.

Put on waterproof footwear and wind- and waterproof clothing, jacket and long pants, caps. Bring small backpack with water bottle, snacks, anti-mosquito spray, camera. Binoculars if you have.

Guide is Mikael Palm, an experienced mountain guide who do both nature-, culture-, hunting- and fishing guidance. Mikael has over 20 years of experience in guiding tours in the mountains of Sälenfjällen.
